About the adoption fee and home visits
Due to rising costs of veterinary care and general care costs the Cats Protection organisation have introduced a charge for it's cats. All CP branches in the area now charge £50 for each cat homed.
The process of adopting one of our cats is fairly straight forward.
It is the policy of Cats Protection to home cats within the local area of each branch or adoption centre, although in special circumstances a cat may be homed outside of a particular branch catchment area. On such an occasion our branch will work closely with the branch of the area in which the cat is to be homed.
Once you have decided to adopt a cat from us please call us on 03453 712 738
to arrange a home visit and view the cats we have available. Our branch is staffed fully by local volunteers so you may find your call answered by an answering service if the human is otherwise engaged. Rest assured we will always respond to your enquiry fairly quickly if you have left your contact details. Indeed, if we have to call back it is often within 1-2 hours, but certainly the same day.
Cats Protection has a policy of carrying out out a home visit for each potential owner before a cat is placed in their care. This visit is not to inspect your home decor! We want to find the right home for each cat and the right cat for each prospective owner. Every cat has its individual personality and needs just as you do. During the visit we will make you aware of specific cats in our care which match your expressed requirements and arrange for you to meet them.
Montrose & Brechin Branch does not have formal opening times but all you have to do is call 0345 3712738 or email us using the contact form to arrange a mutually suitable time for you to view our cats.
